Five Things to do on Rainy Days

Hello everyone! I hope you’ve been having an awesome week so far. Today, since it has been raining a lot over here, I thought I’d share with you my favourite things to do on rainy days. Hope you enjoy!

Read

I’m actually addicted to books, and believe it or not, this is one of my favourite things to do on rainy afternoons. (Well, all the time actually!) Reading helps to broaden your vocabulary, it teaches you a lot about other places, and it takes you traveling across the globe when you can’t afford an airplane ticket. Below is a list of some of my favourite books for rainy days:

The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

Wonder by R. J. Palacio

The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett

Bake

If you’re trapped inside the house and can’t go buy a snack, you can always make your own. Personally, I love baking, but eating the goodies is my favourite part. A few baking ideas would be:

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Pepper Nodder

Cake

Snickerdoodles

Scones

You can easily google recipes for the treats mentioned above, or you might already have a family recipe! My favourite recipe site is allrecipes.com.

Sew

Maybe you’re not the best seamstress, but, there are a lot of sewing techniques that don’t require a lot of skill. My recommendation would be Crazy, or Redwork, since both of them are pretty simple once you know how to thread a needle. I’m certain Youtube and Pinterest will provide you with the necessary instructions and ideas if you are a beginner.

Make a Blanket Fort

No matter what age you are, making a cuddly and warm blanket fort always cheers up rainy days. And, if you can’t camp outside since it’s raining, you can always spend the night in your new blanket fort. LED light strings always cheer up the whole thing!

Watch a Movie

Last but not least, you should watch you’re favourite movie or your favourite Netflix show. It’s a great way to spend a cozy rainy night. To keep things fun you can always have some popcorn nearby. Some good recommendations would be The Sound of Music (It’s a classic!), and Anne with an E from Netflix. Season two is coming out on July, so that is super exciting!

I hope you find these things to do on rainy days helpful. Have a great day and don’t forget to drink some coffee!
