How To Wake Up Early

To be honest, I’m a bit of a lazy person. I don’t usually wake up early. And this does not help me get my goals done. But this year I told myself that I would wake up earlier. Although it’s already January 15th, it’s never too late to begin building good habits! So I’ll be starting my waking up early challenge this week and I’ll share a few tips I’ve found to make this easier.

Start the Night Before

If you want to make your morning easier, then you should start preparing the night before. To do this you can follow these easy steps and tips:

  1. Make sure that your room is not messy when you go to bed. You don’t want to wake up and see a messy room!
  2. Prepare your outfit for the next day. This can save you a ton of time.
  3. Be sure that you stop using all your electronics an hour before you intend to go to bed. This will help your mind begin to relax and go into night mode.
  4. Dim the lights and read a book. This will also help your body relax and it will make you sleep more soundly.
  5. Go to bed on time. No matter how tempting it might seem, turn the lights off and go to sleep at your adsigned time. This wil help you feel more refreshed when you wake up.

Set Only One Alarm

Don’t make the habit of hitting snooze twenty times before you get up. If you tend to turn your alarm clock off and go to sleep right away, then put your alarm clock on the other side of the room. This will definitely get you out of bed. And, if you feel tempted to crawl back into your bed, then make sure you make it before you can crawl in there again.

Tips For Waking Yourself Up

If you still feel really sleepy after you wake up, you can drink some water. This will not only hydrate your body after a long night of sleep, but it will also help you feel more awake.

Another tip would be to go to the shower immediately. This usually helps me wake up when I’m really sleepy. And if you really want to wake up you can always shower with cold water. (Not my favoutie though.)

Have Your Devotionals

This is something that has really been “bugging” me lately. Nor in a bad way, but I’ve been feeling the Holy Spirit telling me to have daily devotions every morning. Although I do read my Bible every night, for a while now I’ve been feeling the need to connect to God early in the morning. True, I can’t do this if I don’t wake up, so I’m going to be starting this wake up early challenge.

Do Something You Enjoy When You Wake Up

I think this is an awesome tip. If you don’t usually enjoy waking up early, (who does?) then do something you enjoy when you wake up. Personally, I love reading, and this would probably motivate me to wake up. I tend to read before I go to sleep, but I should probably change my reading habit and reschedule it for the mornings. It’s going to be some taking used to, but we can do it!

These were a few of my tips for waking up early. and believe me, I’m going to need all the help I can get! So if you also want to begin this challenge you can comment down below and we can encourage each other! Have an awesome week!
