The Real Neat Blog Award

Hey guys! Long time no see. Sorry about that. I’ll be starting to post more often now that we’re all quarantined. Life got so busy! Transitioning isn’t always the smoothest. Anyway, I got nominated for this award by Haley. Thank you! This is going to be fun. 😜 You can go check out her blog here. She has really fun content. I really liked her Rip It or Ship It Tag. Anyway, on to the questions.

What is the strangest thing you have ever eaten?

Well, I’ve had quite a few weird things. First one, a chinicuil. A chinicuil is a worm that grows on cactus plants in Mexico and it is served as a delicacy. (I guess.) I usually would never accept, but let’s just say I had no say in the matter this time. It tasted like soggy french fries. Yep.

Second, probably matoke. This is one of the main meals in Uganda and it is made out of bananas. They cook it in the banana leaves and mash it like mashed potatoes. It doesn’t have a lot of flavor. They usually serve it with a sauce made out of nuts. All in all it’s good.

Do you like sports?

Honestly, I don’t. But since I have to do PE for High School credit then I have to do some kind of sport. I like swimming and biking. Although right now I walk (or hike) for PE. I have to be honest, I’m really behind and I really should start getting more hours in.

What is your favorite Bible verse or quote?

I have so many favorite Bible verses and quotes. But here is one of my favorite Bible verses and one of my favorite quotes:

So now I live with the confidence that there is nothing in the universe with the power to separate us from God’s love. I’m convinced that his love will triumph over death, life’s troubles, fallen angels, or dark rulers in the heavens. There is nothing in our present or future circumstances that can weaken his love. There is no power above us or beneath us—no power that could ever be found in the universe that can distance us from God’s passionate love, which is lavished upon us through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One!

Romans 8:38-39 TPT

“You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.”

C. S. Lewis

What is one thing God has been teaching you during this time?

So many little things and then a big one. Let’s just say that He has been speaking to me about drawing close to His presence and truly living there. He has spoken to me about using this time of quarantine to get closer to Him. The phrase that I keep going back to is, “It’s time to get personal.” I’ve just really been feeling His invitation to get close to Him and hear Him speak, letting His love pour on me. I have come to the conclusion that I can’t depend on others (church, leaders, youth group activities) for my spiritual life, because that is between God and me. It is relationship I’m responsible for.

Favorite thing to blog about?

Uff. Hard one. I love talking about organizing and scheduling. I really enjoy planning and keeping my life in order. So that is one thing I enjoy blogging about. But I also love to blog about Bible stuff, (devotionals, verses, Bible study tips) and books.

Do you enjoy reading?

I love reading! I can curl up with a book and a cup of tea and not leave the couch in hours. Although that doesn’t happen very often because I have to be responsible and actually live my own life. (Can you relate?)

Do you have any stuffed animals?

So many! I honestly never really liked dolls when I was little, so I have tons of stuffed animals. Currently, there are five sitting on my bed and around ten or more in my room.

Hope you enjoyed!

I honestly don’t know enough people to nominate, and I know that I’m disqualifying myself from the award, but I enjoyed answering the questions!

If you want to do a similar post, here are my questions for you.

  1. Who is your best friend and how did you meet?
  2. What has been your worst vacation?
  3. If you could teleport to any place in the world, where would you go?
  4. If you had one more week to live, how would you spend it?
  5. Would you rather choose to have the power of invisibility or be a polyglot?
  6. What is one thing you have always wanted to do?
  7. Would you rather be an actor/actress or a bestselling author?

Have a great one!
